3-Day Holiday Detox

Join Brenna (@sheismindful) and I on January 1st as we offset the holiday indulgence with this 3-Day juice detox! It will help you cut back on sugar and get back on a healthy track to start the New Year!

You’ll start each morning with Warm Lemon Water followed by Pure Celery Juice. Throughout the day you’ll enjoy 6 juices!

Once we end the detox we’ll dive into Brenna’s Taste Buds’ Reprogramming course to help you transition back appreciating real food again and relearn how to recognize what foods your body is really asking for!

D E T O X

Understanding your mind & body to ensure a safe & beneficial detox.

Before I give you all the “juicy” details, I want touch on the fact that this is a time of year when there is a lot of detox talk. There is a stigma attached to the word detox and that is weight loss. While weight loss can be a short term side effect of detoxing, it is not the reason for doing one.

But wait, what does detox even mean? Detox programs support your body’s natural toxin-eliminating processes. By giving your body the nutrients they need without interference, your cells are able to reset and repair so they can function optimally.

Even more so there is chatter about juicing and how it’s “soo last year”. Anything that makes YOU feel good should NOT be shamed as a fad or a trend. Tune out the noise and do what you feel is best for you.

Now back to the facts, there are so many health benefits associated with juicing such as:

  • Give your Digestive System a Rest

    When you drink only raw fruit and vegetable juice, you’re greatly reducing the amount of input and stress that your gut experiences. This gives your body the time to heal and recharge, while also taking in essential vitamins and phytonutrients.

  • Boost Your Energy 

    Within the first two days you’ll start to feel a wave of difference in your energy. Juice cleansing floods your body with nutrients in their natural state creating a lasting, clean energy; not the ups and downs and crashes we can get from coffee and sugar.

  • Goodbye Inflammation

    We’re living in a time of chronic inflammation; from the air we breathe, from meat, dairy, alcohol and the processed foods that we eat, to the products that we use. Your body responds to all of these toxins with inflammation. When you clean things up and cut out those outside toxins, while at the same time adding the beneficial nutrients readily available in juice, you’re allowing your body optimal toxin removal and cell repair. 

  • Hello Hydration 

    Drinking throughout the day, helps keep everything moving. Hydration makes your skin glow. Regular hydration, helps remove toxins while juicing helps bring your cells healing nutrients that can transform how you feel and look.

Why do I do a juice detox? I allow myself to eat freely, enjoy and indulge during the Holiday, AKA I eat what I want. I do NOT miss out on Grandma’s cooking and baking, ever. In the moment it is GLORIOUS but after I feel terrible. My energy levels are close to zero, skin isn’t looking great, sugar cravings are calling me all damn day and I’m answering. I juice because I know I need the hard reset to bring me back to a place of feeling great physically AND mentally. After detoxing, I feel better than ever, my mental state is crystal clear.

So I ask you to PLEASE take a moment to think about why you’re looking to join me on this journey. If you’re mind and body are in the right place then welcome aboard the juice train!

It begins now!

RULES:

  1. ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL DURING THE DETOX!

  2. IF YOU FEEL THE NEED TO WORKOUT, LITE WORKOUTS ONLY! (Be gentle, shorten the duration, low impact & intensity.)

  3. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. (If you feel 1 day is what you can handle then start with 1 day. You can always do the cleanse again and work your way up to 3 days.)

Morning:

Beverage #1:

  • Hot Lemon Water & dash of Cayenne Pepper (cayenne optional)

  • Why?  Drinking in the morning will help sooth your digestive tract and make it easier to eliminate waste from the day before. It also cleanses the digestive tract and helps flush out toxins. Lemon adds a kick of Vitamin C and helps balance acidity in the body while cayenne pepper warms up the digestive system and boosts metabolism.

Beverage #2 (15-30 minutes later)

  • Pure Celery Juice, entire bunch

  • Why? Celery juice enhances the activity of white blood cells, supports the vascular system, purifies the bloodstream, aids in digestion, relaxes the nerves, reduces blood pressure, and clears up skin problems. Celery is rich in vitamin A, magnesium, and iron, which help nourish the blood.

Detox Juice #1

  • Green Apple, 1/2

  • Chard, 6 stems

  • Dandelion Greens, 6 stems

  • Cucumber, 1

  • Spinach, loose handful

  • Lemon, 1

  • Cilantro, 6 sprigs

  • Ginger, 1”

  • Cayenne, dash (optional)

WATER (Hot, cold or room temperature! Lemon & cayenne can be added.)

Detox Juice #2

  • Carrots, 2

  • Mandarin Orange, 1

  • Celery, 6 stalks

  • Lemon, 1

  • Turmeric, dash

WATER (Hot, cold or room temperature! Lemon & cayenne can be added.)

Detox Juice #3

  • Collard Greens, 6 stalks

  • Spring Mix, handful

  • Green Apple, 1 /2

  • Lemon, 1

  • Parsely, 6 sprigs

  • Dandelion Greens, 6 stalks

  • Cucumber, 1

  • Celery, 6 stalks

  • Ginger, 1”

  • Turmeric, dash

  • Beets, 1

  • Carrots, 2

  • Tangerine, 1

  • Celery, 6 stalks

  • Spring Mix, handful

  • Dandelion Greens, 6 stalks
